Conference Venue & Date
The MEFNM2008 Conference will be held in Hotel Bara in Budapest at 9-12 September 2008. Hotel Bara is a new conference centre fully equipped with all modern multimedia tools.

Hotel Bara is situated in the heart of Budapest (H-1118 Budapest, Hegyalja u. 34-36.) close to all the exciting sites by the feet of Gellért Hill.


Host City

The Hungarian capital, Budapest, known as the “Pearl of the Danube”, is a bustling city in the heart of Europe, with over two million inhabitants. The city is divided into two parts, Buda and Pest. Buda is a quarter full of historical sites, monuments and environmental beauties: spas, caves, hills. Pest is a vivid and modern city with numerous entertainment, cultural and shopping facilities.

Language
The conference language is English.
Climate
The weather in Hungary in September is generally mild. Daily temperature range is between 15oC and 22oC, there is a possibility of rain, and the relative humidity is around 45%.
Invitation letter
If you need official invitation letter please don’t forget that the administration of the invitation letter takes 30 days, so we can handle only those applications that are sent at least 60 days before the conference. In order to send you the invitation letter we need to have the payment of the registration fee and the accomodation (in case of bank transfer please count 2 weeks for the arrival of the money, in case of credit card payment 2-3 weeks for the revision of the bank). Please note that the Hungarian Immigration might demand other documentation like authentication of your institute, Curriculum Vitae, documentation of publications, etc.

Visa
Entry visas are not required for citizens of most European countries, the USA and Canada. Citizens of other countries can obtain a visa at the Hungarian Embassy or Consulate in their country. Currency, exchange, credit cards
The official currency in Hungary is the Hungarian Forint. Exchange facilities are offered to participants at the airport, in hotels, at the exchange desk of the banks or at the registration desk of the Congress at around the daily rate indicated by the Hungarian National Bank.
American Express, Visa, Diners, Eurocard, Master Card and JCB Card are accepted at the registration desk, in hotels, first class restaurants and city stores, but you should ask or look for the logo before ordering a service.
Insurance
The Organizing Committee can not assume responsibility for injuries or losses occurring to persons or personal belongings during the Conference. Participants are therefore advised to travel with a valid insurance package.
Electricity supply
In Hungary, electricity is supplied at 230 V, 50 Hz. The 2-pin connecting plug is different from that used in some other countries, e.g. the USA, the UK and Japan.
